Gathering of China Composites Expo 2024 | Exploring Green Opportunities
September 04,2024
The 27th China Composites Expo concluded successfully on September 4. This event marked the largest exhibition in the history of the China International Composites Expo. Over 800 participating companies and more than 30,000 composite material professionals gathered in a 66,000-square-meter exhibition hall.
During the exhibition, SWCFC displayed products such as recycled materials, wind power materials, lightweight automotive components, 3C products, and sports and leisure goods. In the field of new energy, Shangwei's self-developed and produced recycled carbon fiber felt has been successfully applied in wind turbine beams, and the recyclable pultrusion plates displayed have also been used in wind blades in large quantities. Additionally, the recyclable Type IV hydrogen cylinders showcased are set for mass application in the energy storage industry. In the automotive field, recyclable lightweight automotive shell components were displayed, including carbon fiber automotive spoilers and fuel tank covers. In the sports and leisure field, recyclable bicycle handlebars, badminton rackets, shuttlecocks, footboards, casual sports shoes, and fishing rods made from recyclable prepreg materials were exhibited.
At the booth, SWCFC's new recycled products—recycled carbon fiber felt, recyclable carbon fiber composite bicycle components, and recyclable carbon fiber products—became the focus of attention, attracting numerous visitors.
Recycled Materials SWANCOR's recyclable thermosetting epoxy resin—"EzCiclo" and "CleaVER" recycling technology—offers mechanical and operational performance consistent with traditional eco-friendly resins, allowing customers to manufacture composite material parts without changing their original processes and equipment. The physical properties of the recycled carbon fiber are close to those of new carbon fiber, with carbon dioxide emissions reduced by 97% compared to new carbon fiber, solving the problem of thermoset composites' inability to be recycled for the past 90 years.
Carbon fiber waste or parts are separated from thermoset composite materials using the new "CleaVER" recycling technology. The separated resin and carbon fiber can be individually recycled and reused, achieving circular production and reducing carbon emissions. The recycled carbon fiber is reformed and applied across various industries. Currently, Shangwei Carbon Fiber is leading the way in the composite materials field, and its recyclable products inject new momentum into the industry's green development.
Although this year's exhibition has ended, we will continue to move forward. In the future, Shangwei Carbon Fiber will increase its R&D investment, firmly uphold the corporate mission of providing "sustainable and circular products and services in the fields of green energy, environmental protection, and safety," and continue to refine its offerings, providing optimal composite material solutions to our customers. Together, we will strive for green, low-carbon, and sustainable development!
